MC Mega - Ferocious
This is new album from a local MC from around my way called MC Mega from Urban Poets Crew (www.urbanpoetscrew.com). He just released it last week.
I liked this album more better than his previous release "Escape From Wonderland". From there to here he's seems to tighten up his production with the help from the UPC. His beats on this album are more slicker and refined than on "Wonderland".
Mega's voice, for those who haven't heard him before, is very reminiscent of Booty Brown or Imani from the Pharcyde...high pitched. After a few seconds you'll learn to appreciate it. Mega's skills as an MC are not legendary but they are not weak either. He does have an flow. He reminds me in alot of ways of Murs. Lyrically he's not at Murs level yet but his style similar to Murs.
This, like "Escape From Wonderland", is an free album his posted on his myspace page. Most of the joints on this album are over 2 minutes long but under 3 minutes. "Ash" and "We're Both Living" are exceptions clocking in at 3 minutes and 12 seconds each . Mega is new to the game and hasn't released an legitimate (meaning you have buy it) album as of yet but as time goes on he'll sure develop enough fans to make to a legit album successful.
